This is an incredible school! My daughter is heavily into the arts and music. In addition, the school has many GATE programs. The school has many, many art and music programs.
I have 2 boys in kindergarten this year at Madrone. We have a new principal that is wonderful! Very hands on approach, is outside greeting the children every morning, pla.ys with tham all at recess. The staff is wonderful as well
I'm a parent of a Kindergartener at this school and I am currently looking into alternative schools: charters, magnets, private. Although it seems this school is very good by public school standards, my husband and I are looking for a more enriching experience overall for our son. We don't think the No Child Left Behind program will serve our son well through his school years. Unfortunately, this is our neighborhood school and one we'd like to attend if only teachers had more say in curriculum and if testing was not such a large component of the schools and therefore, our childs', success.
My son seems to like it. He's in Kindergarten and we're new to the area so, we are still checking things out.
