Outstanding small rural school. I have two children at Miller's Hill who are very happy and getting a first rate education. The teachers have high expectations and provide a challenging curriculum. It is no surprise the school have been awarded the distinguished school award 5 times.

It's a small school so politics are paramount, especially with the current administration! There is limited extracurricular activities. Given the current climate at the this school, it would be at the bottom of my list if searching for a school for your new student!

This school is what we parents refer to as the best private public school in the area. The school goes from 4-8 grade, one classroom for each grade, with the largest class having 32 children. Most classes have 25. The principal, teachers and parents are very involved in ensuring children succeed. Students continually rank in the highest percentiles on the STAR and CAT6 tests. There are many enrichment programs including art, speech, computers (state-of-the-art computer lab and library) as well as basketball, track and cross country. We moved from the Bay Area 4 years ago and our three children love the school, as do we. Very highly recommended.

After moving our family into the area & Latrobe School District two years ago, I had some concerns about the quality of education and the safety of the students at Miller's Hill School. However, after the first trimester my son attended MHS, it was evident that the teachers and staff were exceptional people and talented in bringing out the best in my child. I soon found out that even though I was worried about 4th graders through 8th graders interacting with eachother, they all get along well together and respect each other. My son's teacher makes an incredible effort for all his students, offering help at lunch-time or after school if a child needs extra instruction. All the staff are very genuine, caring people. The parents volunteer many hours to help with the arts and sports programs, we would not be able to offer because of state budget cut backs.
