Roosevelt is an excellent school with a highly qualified staff. The school offers a project-based learning program that allows the students to learn in many ways. This school is frequently misunderstood by the neighbors who live near the school, and it is time that parents take a closer look at what is being offered at Roosevelt School. It is a hidden gem in the nieghborhood.

My daughter is finishing her kindergarten year at Roosevelt School. All the Kinder teachers are wonderful; however there is a great lack of parental involvement, especially in getting their own and their children's English Language proficiency up to speed. The programs are age appropriate, and the Kinders have their own playground so they can work on their socialization without interference from older kids. THere is little to no involved yard duty during recess, and no organized games set up. And the schedules are not always fixed, so sometimes the kids will get a 15 min lunch recess, and sometimes up to a 45 minute lunch recess. The classrooms are neat and bright, though, and by the end of the year, the kids are responsive and thoughtful individuals in the classroom setting. The school faces an uphill battle re: parental involvement and English learners, but they're working on it.
