Our daughter is a kindergarten student at Nesbit and we couldn't be happier with this school. We were somewhat disappointed when we moved into our house two years ago and found out that our neighborhood school was so overcrowded that they were sending all the kindergarteners to Nesbit. Even though it is further away, it is worth the extra driving. My daughter is happy, inspired and eager to learn and she loves her school. All the Kindergarten teachers seem to be exceptional and the Principal is outstanding. While our daughter will be eligible to return back to the school closer to our home, we plan to keep her at Nesbit for first grade.

As a parent of a first grader and being new to this school, I cannot say enough about the teachers, administration and support staff. They are all committed professionals that do all they can to provide quality eduation as well as promote a respectful, welcoming and friendly atmosphere that is felt throughout the school. They have wonderful, engaging assemblies that include exposure to animals from around the world, as well as guest authors who engage students in writing workshops. Extracurricular activities include things such as Mad Science which provided a wonderful hands on opportunity for my child to learn about a variety of areas of science from animals to robots. One of the best things about this school is their program that teaches individual responsibilty and respect for all that includes a peer conflict resolution program. This school is anything but a warehouse for children.

great teachers, offers & promotes extracurricular activities, cultivates & developes parental involvement

This school is abysmal -- simply a place to warehouse children. The teacher provides little stimulation and the concept of hands on appears to have eluded this classroom entirely. We've been discussing these problems with the principal, who has failed to follow through with her promises to correct them. Even the reading specialist failed to provide appropriate reading materials as promised. While there is certainly a lack of resources, those that are available are squandered. The entire situation is inexcusable.
