I am an ex-student from this school and found it to be about the normal level of most schools I've been to, there to be a few issues that I had with this school that was a major disappointment to me, my parents and my closest peers. I found that this school whist having decent classes for education it had vary severe social issues. The second largest issue I had with this school was the lack of vocation educational programs to be a bit lacking. With a lack of classes that teach you how to live in the real world the general ED. classes seem to be up to snuff.

The quality of academic programs at Coast Union in Cambria are O.K. They are moderate, but not exceptional. The availability of sports is what Coast is all about. Most coaches for Freshman or Junior Varsity teams are kids in college, not necessarily experience in coaching. Although they try hard, they are not always fair with their choices. The level of parent involvement at this school is pretty good for a high school. The new Principal has been good, and fortunately, a lot of bad teachers left last year. The quality of the new teachers who have replaced the old teachers is still being analyzed.

I feel this school is good for most kids but my son. Academicly they seem to offer a lot of courses but as far as the child that is average they do not offer much. My son is ADD and love ag. The school at one time had a wonderfull ag. class and facility but not now. There is no welding, body shop, home ec., cooking and on top of that not much help for him accadimicly. I feel that if you are accadimicly sound it is a good school but for those that have other intrest it is not.
