I've raised my kids in three different school districts in Montana, and Polson is by far the best. It has a great mix of academics and athletics. The course offerings are excellent, kids leave prepared for college in all areas, I feel like the Math and Social Studies Departments are a strong suit, and the others fall in close behing. Speech, Debate, and Drama have been state champions in the past. Their vocational education is outstanding, so much students build and sell a house from the ground up. There is something for everybody at PHS.
Polson Highschool has some of the most caring teachers you can find anywhere and it shows through its top notch students. Polson Pirates are the proudest team I have seen and the entire town supports them even when they no longer have kids that attend there. We are proud of our kids.
Polson High school is one of the most open minded schools in the area. The staff and students each year embrace foreign exchange students like new family members. Not only do they give the students a real life American High School year but they make life long friendships. The added work the teachers endure is repaid when the kids return to thier home countries talking about how wonderful Polson and PHS was for them giving them a truely global experience. When people around Montana ask the school I like working with the most with my foreign kids I tell them Polson High School not only have my own three kids earned a good education at PHS all of my foreign kids have as well.
Polson High School students last year began to discuss who would be Homecoming Queen for this year. This year they all made it happen by voting in a beautiful young lady with a disability. She was crowned with a beautiful smile and well deserved. Meanwhile, still cheering on everyone else as she always does. She captivates the heart of everyone she meets, so full of love not only for PHS but has the best School spirit. PHS made it known to everyone in our community that PHS rocks on with good character, determination, family values and a whole lot of love. When the student body comes together to celebrate one person and that person celebrates everyone else, there is a river of humility, deeply moving underneath them all.
