Owens Elementary School

This is our first year at Owens Elementary, but so far it has been outstanding. I can't say enough about my sons K teacher, Miss Perry - she has been phenomenal thus far!! We love our school.

My son has been at Owens for 2 years (K and 1st). Both years, we had terrific teachers. The PTA is great! However, there is a lack of recess time, music, art, computer programs are only offered once on a 2-week rotation. The library is adequate but small and needs some updated books. The school is crowded, but hopefully with the new Jack campus, that will help. This year, some security measures were instituted and the grounds have been improved upon as well. All in all, we do like Owens and recommend it.

I feel Owens does a good job but is severely overcrowded. This results in students not being able to fully explore the arts and music. There have been days my daughter was turned away from the library as the librarian said she had too many kids already (she is at Target on her classes day and has to go independently). She has had some wonderful teachers and some just OK teachers. It is

Owens is a great school. My child is in the 4th grade and doing very well. The teacher is outstanding (Ms Findley), as is Ms Hudson. We like the new principal of Owens! The setting of the school is beautiful and my child is very happy going to Owens!
