David O. Dodd Elementary is a small, but robust school in the LRSD. As a result of being a small school, (less than 300 students) the classroom sizes are extremely beneficial to the students, not only in the 'whole class' prospective, but more 'one-on-one' time with their teacher provides increased exposure to personal confidence building, encouragement, along with each student's scholastic needs. This school also has a tremendous network of volunteer workers, which not only help in daily classroom activities assisting the teachers, but keeping watchful eyes before and after school as well. The principal of this school is very much a 'hands-on' administrator. Her direction and leadership of the teaching staff has produced very dedicated and focused instructors. In addition, she is also an 'approachable' principal for both parents and students.
