I went to the school as a kid and now my son is in kindergarten there this year(06-07). I think the school has taken a turn for the worse with the principal that is in place now. That school needs to put teachers in their appropriate areas. And as for all the construction going on, its ridiculous! That kind of work should be done during the summer months. This school needs a lot of improvement.

Since 1999, at least one of my three children have gone to Larragoite. However, over the years some of the best educators have retired or left the school. A high turn over of staff, which has included the Principal, has put the school in turmoil. 2006-2007 school years once again brings changes. Some teachers have been reassigned grade levels which have resulted in a least one teacher leaving the school. Parent participation is low. Due to the high cost of living in Santa Fe and the school being located in middle class section in Santa Fe, most parents can't afford to take time off work and assist in activites during school hours.

Overall, Larragoite has been ok. In the past year or so, there has been a very high turnover in teachers in most of the grades, including the principal. There are only a few teachers that have been there a while that I feel to be qualified in teaching my children and can communicate well with both the children as well as the parents. Without common courtesy and communication from teachers, there is no parent involvement, unfortunately. I must, however, commend the wonderful secretary that can handle any job given with a smile and knows just about everything and anything having to do with her elementary school. Kudos!
