As a former school employee, I found Tolar ISD to be academically progressive and somewhat innovative in their curriculum. The student atmosphere is very relaxed with no discernable groups as to acceptance of one another. The staff is very willing to help the students with any aacademic problems they may have. The school principal is highly visible and is in the halls between periods talking with the students and assisting in any way he is needed. I would recommend to prospective parents that they visit the school and learn of the college courses that are offered. To the best of my recollection a student can earn up to 15 college hours their junior year and up to 13 hours their senior year. If the student successfully passes the classes we have found that the hours transfer to most texas colleges and universities including Texas,A&M,Texas Tech and others.

I am not a parent but a student of Tola. It is always hard to go to a new school. There is always cliches and Tolar is no differnt. But I love my class to the fullest and would stand beside them in any choice they made, they are all wonderful people. But the first while you are going there you gotta have grit to last, or they will eat you alive. They can be rude, but normally they are pretty easy going. If you are a strong person Tolar is for you. If not look else where.

Tolar school is a wonderful school, since Mr.Rome the new principal stepped in it has been excellent. The teachers are good they care about the kids, and it all depends on how the student acts towards the principal and the teachers. My kids are treated with great respect.

My family and I moved here 2 yrs ago this October, and I found that Tolar school is not what I expected. My children have been treated so bad that they are asking to go to another school. Their bus driver is rude, the junior high teachers have no business teaching. I do not appreciate one teacher calling my child rude and nasty names. Words a child should not hear! I would not recommend Tolar to any parent!
