Lancaster High School

I am a parent and have been thoroughly disappointed with the lack of interest in the academic and social success of my student by the teachers and administrators. At Lancaster High, students ask for an ACT packet or SAT packet and are told to fill out a form and schedule an appointment to get a packet. That is unnecessary. Also, Seniors are not being informed about scholarships. I am disgusted with the guidance staff because any request that is made is met with contempt. Also, when trying to get information from the guidance director, you receive the run-around.....excuses....excuses. Another thing that has puzzled me is the way some students are given preferential treatment with regard to scheduling some 'sought after' classes. My student has been taking AP, Honors, and CP since 8th grade; however, many of her requests for certain classes have gone ignored. Admin. ignores many things.

Lancaster Has bee a very good school to me. Everyday I meet new people. The Teacher are great you learn a lot and you are smarter that ever when you leave their class. If you want quality you should try Lancaster High School. There are many extracurricular activities and it is by far the best school I've been to.

Lancaster High School has been a very good school for my children. I have had 2 children go thourgh: 1 son and 1 daughter. My son played on the football team and helped tutor some of the not as smart football players (at the coaches request). He helped some players increase their grade by a full letter grade and was rewarded by the coach. He was also in the top 25 in his class. My daughter was in the Beta Club and was very active at the school, participating in the band. There are several excellent teachers at the school. There are a few discipline problems but these have been decreased by the hiring of two additional school resource officers. I would recommend Lancaster High to anyone moving to the area. Both of my children have said that they loved Lancaster.

I have been very disappointed in Lancaster High School. I have had 2 children in this school, neither one was ever in trouble and makes average and above average grades. The discipline of this school, however, is poor and I felt that children were discouraged to advance in certain areas. The football players had very poor grades and were still allowed to play on the team. The language was not monitored at all in the halls or on campus. Some very good teachers there but very poor administration.
