I loved this school. The teachers were amazing (I had children in K and in 1st). The yard duty staff was always welcoming and attentive. We are a military family here for a year and the school was great with our needs! A+ The only thing I didn't like was the schools use of Spanish.
My children have gone to this school for 3 years, during this time I have seen things that are completley unexecptable, the teachers just dont care any more and I feel it is an unsafe canbus, I am very concered about the future of the students that attend this school, there have been more & more violance but yet nothing is being done to stop or atleast address these issues? This is has gottten out of control! I am sick and tired of getting no respose from admin regarding the falling test scores and the increase of extreme behavior.How is this school ever gonna improve when the issues are not even reconized to be dealt with? This year i have enrolled all three of my children in tracy schools where i have heard nothing but praise and reveiwed there rising teast scores they have controled there behavoir issuces why cant this district do the same? Its sad that i can't relay on my local school disrict to provide a prober and more importanley a safe education
As far as the academic programs go, I feel that the schools don't challenge the students enough.I think the art and music is wonderful but I'm highly disappointed that the sports were cut.The parent involvement is good and I have no problems with that.I am a bit feel concerned about my daughters math grade because she as good A's in everything but math?
Mixed feelings. I think the special Ed department is lacking. Too difficult to get assistance for children requiring special education services, but I think that's the entire district, not just the school. Compared to other schools, like Joshua Cowell, GW is wonderful. The yard duties at GW are great, friendly, and know most of the kids by name.
