This school is great! I learned so much there, and am sad about leaving, but all of the staff has prepped me well on what to expect at Avery Middle. Without a doubt, the best school!
Teachers, administration, and staff are top of the line in caring for students' academic, physical, and emotional well being. Parent involvement is average; half the parents are completely immersed in the school and the other half have virtually no involvement. Mrs. Lingerfelt is an intelligent, thoughtful, and caring principal with a knack for finding peaceful resolutions for challenging situations whether between parents, students, staff, etc. Extracurricular activities will expand as more parents get involved, but comparatively, for such a small school, there are a large number of extracurricular activities. There is a no-tolerance policy for bullying which leads to an environment conducive to positive growth and learning for the Hazel Fischer student.
An excellent school, with some of the most qualified, enthusiastic and motivating teachers I have ever come across! Hazel Fischer has a wealth of programs for students ranging from intellectually gifted to academically struggling. The small class size and sense of community make this a wonderful learning environment.
