The principal is extremely prudent in spending money for betterment of students and teachers, the teachers are all dedicated, caring, and long-time veterans, and the students are getting brighter each year. After school programs are numerous to choose from, and fundraising is non-commercial. It's a great place to learn.
My child has never been happier at school. He is in Kindergarten and loves it there. I believe this school provides a comfortable learning evironment and has the best teachers to stimilate young minds. My son tells me something new he'd learned each day. The amazing part is that he actually remembers and is able to talk about it with a lot of interest and excitement.
Caring, committed teachers, principal, and parents. It is our first year at FSK and everyone has made us feel very welcome!
Of all the schools I toured during SFUSD's lottery enrollment process, Francis Scott Key Elementary was the only full inclusion public elementary school that was warm, welcoming, and open. The Principal himself made an appointment with you to give you a 1:1 tour instead of how other schools would do parent-led tours with 50-100 other parents. Principal Wong answered all my questions, was honest and candid about improvements that could be done and was proud of the school's accomplishments. I feel he genuinely cares about all his students, special needs or not. He's also very supportive of the teachers, who are all very dedicated, caring, committed, loving and nurturing. One of the teacher's received Mayor Newsom's Teacher of the Month award and I believe she greatly deserved it. Even when I asked to observe and sit in during class time, the teachers and the principal were always very accomodating. FS Key is truly a caring and inclusive school community. The inclusion teacher is also very committed to her students' needs. I absolutely adored, Ms. Lily Lee, my son's kindergarten teacher. If there is such a thing as a perfect teacher, Ms. Lee would be her! I also love our PTA! I invite you to check out our school's website: http://www.francisscottkeyschool.org/home. Good luck in your search!
