The ALCS schools are clearly near the best in this very rural section of the state. I have lived in many areas of the country and NYS and I take serious issue with the allegation that this school has inner-city, public school like problems with drugs and alcohol. There is a great sense of community in Allegany that extends to the school though it can be very difficult to break through the 'outsider' feeling which is somewhat typical of a small town. This school may not be without it's issues but I'd recommend it to anyone as a great place to raise and educate a family.

Allegany Limestone Middle School is a small, rural school. I have not been happy with it at all since my son has attended. If you have a child with disabilities, then this is not the school for them. I had to fight for over a year just to have him evaluated. Although it is a rural school, there are a lot of the problems you would normally find in inner city public schools with drugs and alchol.
