I love the school, the teachers, and the principle. The are trying to promote parent involvement, but still needs some new perspectives on it. It is coming along though. Change takes time, but they are really working hard to do the right things. The resources are ridiculously tight in every school right now! Parent are vital to the schools success!
I am happy with the way they are incorporating the Montessori idea into the regular classroom settings, which has always seemed to be a model which would provide the best education for the students (of the models I know of).
I would give Green Acres a B in ratings, or 4 stars. I am a sub at the school and love being there. The teachers are great, the kids are good kids and the atmosphere is upbeat and mostly fun and positive.
Excellent building leadership. The teachers are positive and work hard to meet my child's needs. Overall, the climate is frinedly and helpful. I would love to see more parent volunteers help out at events, PTC, etc...
