I have been a part of this school for 3 years and think it is a wonderful place for children to learn in an alternative environment. The teachers are all very dedicated and seem to genuinely care for all the students. They use different techniques with the kids in order to help them learn to the best of their ability. The principal makes it obvious that the school is her life-long passion and that she will do anything it takes to keep up to standards.
This school is a diamond on the rough. The staff is wonderful and with the small student base of about 100 students, it is like a family. You will either love or hate this school. Resources are limited due to lack of funding, no arts or music, but the children are allowed to learn in a loving, safe environment at their own pace. Wonderful, educational, field trips are always on the agenda (Kravis, Science museum, etc).I am a 3rd year parent and I thank the Lord this school is available to my children. I am happy to give well over the 40 volunteer hours per year required. The more you help with the school, the more you get out of it. The principle is so generous with her time to the school. It truly is her passion and is evident in everything she does.
This school is a gem. I love the uniforms, as they take the guesswork out of the morning rush. I love the fact that it is a small school where all the teachers know all the children. That happens no place else! The principal is open to suggestions and positive criticism. She is a warm, loving, emotional woman who genuinely cares for all her kids. This year there is a play being put on which is super, and all that is missing is a music program. I'd love to see a teacher who could play piano at morning assembly. What a great way to start the day. (with singing) I know all the teachers and rate them very highly also.
