H. S. Truman High School

This school instills a sense of self worth and personal responsibility to each and every student. As well, students are held accountable for setting goals, monitoring their own progress and effectively communicating their achievements to their peers and mentors. Academic programs are aligned with the students choice of potential career field with special emphasis on job shadowing, internships & integration of other academic settings to compliment and enhance their regular studies at 'Truman'. Parental involvement is as much or as little as desired by the parent. However, it is highly encouraged by the school and almost mandatory at certain times such as exhibitions and enrolments. This school is a 'program' in its entirety and is not easily compared to traditional mainstream.

I srarted school at Truman high school in fall 2004 and the way the school is set up is amazing. It helped me learn a lot faster and now I actually understand the work I am doing, at my old high school I did the work but did not learn or remember anything. Truman high school has changed my life and before I started attending there I did not know what I wanted to do with my life and now I do.

This School has changed my life, I dont know where I would be if I had not come to Truman, I would have probibly droped out. If you are a mature self motivated student who wants to go places in there life and you dont feel like you fit in to the mold of normal schools come to truman. -By a 11th grader that has been at truman sents 9th grade.

I have to admit I am not a parent I am a student at Truman High School so the information your getting is comming from straight the horses mouth. The curriculum is Great. This school prepares students to enter college and the real world through internships and out of school activities. Parents are really involved with the school. In fact the have to be. The parents are just as important as the faculty. They are involved with the learning process of students. They help the Student Put together their learing plan. The internships are very important. They Put the Students in Real life career settings. Students are working with the Pt. Defiance Zoo, NASA, 4 star resturaunts, prosicuting offices. you name it they're there. So Truman High School is a great place to send students.
