My fourth of four children is currently enrolled in Kingsford Middle School. My other three children also attended Kingsford Middle School. I think KMS does a great job of addressing the academic needs as well as the emotional needs of the middle school child. They use a team approach to teaching which helps the teachers to get to know the children better and address concerns quickly if they arise. Teacher/Parent communication is good. In addition to the high academic expectations, the teachers encourage the students to become good citizens by teaching them about responsibility and other positive character traits. They are currently learning about the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens. I highly recommend Kingsford Middle School.

I was not impressed with this school at all. The assistant principal was so focused on his own personal goals that he had no repoir with the parents or the students. The principal was a wimp. He just walked around chatting...or hid in his office. Kudo's to the assistant principal...I must say he did all the dirty work for the principal. As for academically, the school seldomly took the kids on field trips, or exposed them to any culture. It is a town that lives in a bubble. Both of my kids breezed through this school with A's..and never had a bit of homework...EVER! I give this school an F for academics..and an A for school spirit and pride..it's all about sports at Kingsford Middle and High School.
