The school district wisely brought in a new Principal Kurt Madden. He is currently evaluating the academics, athletics and performing arts to decide where he can make changes as early as Spring 2009. The renewed effort of competition to retain top performing students and attract same is underway. My daughter has done well there for the past four years and will go to a college of her choice because she got out what she put into the school. Highly recommend this school!

My fourth child is now almost finished at Scripps Ranch High. Like any other school, there are some teachers that are better than others. I believe if your child wants to succeed, there's a way. It's not all dependent on the school. My kids all got into UC schools and one is going to Claremont-McKenna. I don't like the 'stigma' attached to the private schools. I believe that Scripps Ranch High prepared my kids for college. The sports programs are great. The school is very crowded, but so is San Diego. I would recommend this school to anyone.

The diversity of teachers and faculty is non existent. If your child is not an honor roll kid he will get lost in the shuffle. If you are involved in sports and are not a part of the ' booster club' good luck on having your child playing a role in sports. I am glad my child transferred to a better academic school that cares about the average kid.

I have lived in Scripps Ranch since 1989. When the high school opened up, my neighbors kids were getting a sound education. But my son is a senior now and my daughter is a sophomore and the quality of the school both academically and athletically has declined significantly. Some parents are still under the impression that this public school is giving our kids a sound education. I can not disagree more strongly. I have had numerous problems with teachers not qualified to teach advanced placement classes still teaching. I am pulling my daughter out this school year.
