My grandson started Kindergarten at Mitchell and now is in the 2nd grade. Between is great foundation of learning from pre k to kindergarten he has excelled with the love of the teachers at Mitchell. The parental envolvement is amazing from fundraisers to family night.. it fantastic. The teachers and the staff are very caring, wonderful people.

Great parent support; awesome school all around! My son has some issues with staying focused (ADD) and learning disability, the staff has been great!!!

My daughter is a first grader at Mitchell, and has attended since Pre-K My experince so far is that this school would rate as average. Many parents I talk to privately love this school. My problem with is it's very easy for a child to get lost in this system. If a child is excelling then they are fostered but the rest are left behind. The Principal and teachers I have dealt with so far seem to care and are engaged, but restrained by the curriculum in place. There doesn't seem be be room/time to individualize to a childs strenghts, weakness, and learning style. For parents that don't have a choice this is one of the better schools in the Charles County School system, which are mediocre at best. So we are going to enroll our daughter in a local Catholic School for the next school year.
