American Youthworks Charter School

My son is attending the south Austin campus, and tell you what...he is doing awesome. My son started attending after dropping out of public school for a whole year. We struggeled with him to go back to school and he would refuse, then we found out about American Youth Works and it has been a blessing. He went in with a really bad attitude about teachers and classes, you name it he had something bad to say and now he loves his teachers and he loves going to school. I also see by conversations that I have with him, how helpful some teachers and how concerned they are about him. Now my son has goals for the future and is even looking into going to ACC. Thank God!! and American Youth Works...Yall Rock!!!!

My daughter is a student at American Youthworks, downtown campus, Austin, Texas. The school has been a godsend for us. My daughter ended up there because of truancy issues at her other high school. With classes going from 8am-12:15pm, we have eliminated the skipping of school after lunch. She had a really hard time getting back to school after the lunch break. It has allowed her to get a job in the afternoon which helps her self esteem. I have had the opportunity to volunteer at the school. I have also had parent-teacher conferences to address some of her issues. In every case, I have found the teachers and the prinicipal and the staff to be extremely respectful and supportive of the students. Watching them interact with the students, taught me a different approach with my daughter. The school has given me new hope for my daughter.
