This school is something to be desired, it's not due to the teachers, just the whole feel. Coming from the small school district of Cardiff this was a shock. I put my two oldest kids through this school and regret it every day. Unless your kid is a skater they probably won't fit in, or they will not be the same student when they leave this school, & not in a positive way.
My son attended this school and is now a Freshman at LCC. Oakcrest was wonderful - the teachers were responsive, provided extra assistance at lunch and after school, and genuinely cared about the students. The school offers many extracurricular programs. The principal and vice principal were visible on campus. Despite nearly 1,000 students, this campus is safe and I never felt my child was lost in the numbers. My son was well prepared for high school!

Oak Crest Middle School has come a long way! I attended Oak Crest 1981-1983. I didn't have a very positive experience while I was there, but I must say that my son is having a wonderful time and doing very well! Every time I have had a concern and have e-mailed a teacher, they have responded within 24 hours, most the same day. My son loves all of his teachers. The counselors, principal and asst. principal are wonderful. I am so happy with this school!
