Fortis receives just as much money per child as the public schools are funded. Yet no buses, crappy parking, inexperienced teachers, over sized class rooms...29 students...to many. Here your child is just a number. They can't even have home games, concerts or events at the school because there is no room. We pulled our 3 children out and placed them in Ann Arbor public schools and they thank us everyday!!! If you care about your child's education then you would not chose this school.

Parents need to keep in mind - these children are your children...you must take the time to read with them, help with homework and establish a strong moral ethic at home. You cannot expect the teachers to transform your child into something you want them to be without putting time into them. I spent many days in Mrs. Wolf's class and she is wonderful - each child was treated with respect and in a loving way. I will continue to play an active role in my daughter's education and work with her teachers in helping her reach her fullest potential! We love Fortis and are very happy to have the opportunity to work with the teachers and administrators in our daughter's education.

The elementary school is fine, but the middle school is horrible. The teachers are unrealistic in their expectations under the guise of being high achieving. The amount of homework is ridiculous, as is the late homework policy. The teachers do not connect with the students, they are more task driven. No diverstiy with any of my children's teachers.
This is the 4th year I have been a parent at Fortis. I have not been disappointed yet! My youngest child is currently a 2nd grader at Fortis. She is extremely bright and works far above grade level. Her teacher has no problem with this and continues to challenge her. A great work example, for January and February, her class was involved in a research project that required library research, notecards, a research paper from the notecards, a powerpoint slide show with graphics and bullet points from the notecards, and an oral presentation. WOW, in 2nd grade. She completed this all in school except the library research. I appreciate that parents are unhappy with the parking lot situation. Patience and common sense are definitely required
