I moved into this school district to give my daughter a better chance at her education, and was very happy with the way the school welcomed us in. The teachers are wonderful and should be acknowledged to the fullest. But the higher staff including the guidance and principals on the other hand have some issues. The 9th grade principal has a unprofessional demeanor in handling of his students, speaking at them and yelling loud enough for all the hear. This school has a lot of students and not enough staff to help them out. I am very involved in my daughters schooling here and if it weren't for the great teachers then we wouldn't be attending CHS!!
I am a parent who attened CHS it was great, all the staff cares so much about every student. Also my son will be a grad.2009 of CHS. I would have never sent him to another high school . May years later with new structure and teachers, Connetquot is still a great school over all.
I'm actually a student here, and I know, this is a great school. Theres have a ton of AP classes, great teachers- I can think of 8 just from this year alone. Granted, there are faults, but what school doesn't? Overall its a good school. I dont know how some programs are, such as special education, remidal levels or even most Regents levels are since I'm in the Honors/AP track for the most part. The band is amazing, Lasher and Johnson do a great job every year. In any case, thers a great varitey of classes available- I'm looking to study archeology in college and as a junior, I'm able to take classes that start off in the anthrology/archeology/sociology track. Already, I'm getting a background in classes I'll need to take in college, such as my AP Statisics class next year and sociology last semester. This is an amazing school.
