We love Ivey Ranch. My daughter is now in her second year at the school as a First Grader and is thriving. The school has a fantastic and very involved PTO. The teachers and staff are very open and supportive. I have heard only good things about the teachers and the programs at the school from the parents I meet. Math, writing, and reading are the main focus of the curriculum, but the teachers also include art and projects into the day. The kids have a gym class and running is encouraged on the track before school starts. We feel so lucky to have such a great school in our neighborhood!
My son started Kindergarten this year at Ivey Ranch. We were very concerned because he has always been very shy and quiet. His teacher has been supportive and he adores her. He is reading!!!!! The school is using a program that groups students by ability level for reading instruction and I am very confident that my son will be successful because of these strategies. Even though there is such a strong focus on reading and mathematics, the teachers still manage to incorporate monthly thematic art projects, holiday parties and birthday celebrations into their day. They even have a 'snow day' where they arrange to have a company make snow so the children can experience snow even here in California. My son also attends the YMCA after school program. He loves it there. The children are well cared for in this program as well. I would highly recommend this school.
My son is currently in kindergarten at Ivey Ranch. I was concerned because he was only four when he started, and I thought the whole thing would be overwhelming for him. I've found the teacher and staff very receptive. Any concerns are immediately addressed. The teacher is open to discussion on any matter. She gives and takes suggestions equally. I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to school for my son. He loves it there.
