I have seen Bluebonnet go through many changes in the past 17 years, some good some bad. I just have to say that our newest principal, Lucy McVey, has been the best thing to happen at Bluebonnet since Barbara Perry held that position!

I have had 1 child attend Bluebonnet and overall have felt that he received very poor instruction. While teachers seem to be okay and caring, when the doors to their rooms close students say differently. The school used to be good. When Mr. Gates was principal I felt welcome and needed as a part of the 'team' at the school. The new principal was very mean and harsh to both students and teachers. Many of the teachers do the minimum that they have to for class. There are a lot of worksheets and not a lot of real experiences. Lots of textbooks and what seems to be drill and kill. We had one great teacher in 1st grade, but she left to work at the district with lots of other schools. Bluebonnet has potential, but needs some real change!

This school has received great criticism in the past years but little recognition for its excellent teachers and overall school dedication for education. My three children have attended Bluebonnet since 1997 and fell they recieved the excellent education. Of course evey school has its challenges and weaknesses but this school has quality teachers and a caring adminstration.
