Canyon Vista MS might be a good school for typical school but it is a terrible school for students with special needs. We had suffered a great deal in trying to get especially the district/school admin to work with us. Eventually we had to leave because the district does not believe in students learn differently and can each have potential. It was a very painful experience. The only good experience we had while at CVMS was with the band. The band director was wonderful and had gone out his way to accommodate our student.
Canyon Vista is a middle school with high-potential students. However, the enthusiasm of the students at CaVMS is limited. Sometimes, these students don't really try to learn just for the love of learning, and most of the teachers are not very energetic. This school is above average, but not so much that they would be considered as a 'top-notch' high school.
