I'm not sure what this parent means by 'out of date', but Deep Wood is not dirty. We are very lucky because Deep Wood is small compared to other schools in the area, so it's not so overcrowded and the kids get more public attention than other RRISD elementary schools. They don't use corporal punishment, which tells me that this school is more progressive than many in Texas. Without knowing what the other parent meant, I can't defend our school well, but there's a tidbit.

This school is dirty and out of date, the principal and teachers seem to also be a little dated in their thinking.

I love this school! My daughter was attending as a transfer student because I taught in the district, and sh elearned so much and felt loved and at home. Mrs. Roithner was the best first grade teacher I could have asked for. As a teacher myself, I scrutinize everything my childrens' teachers do, and I have nothing but praise and admiration for the teachers and administration at Deep Wood. We'll miss you all!
