I don't know of any parent concerned about security in the school (besides the one below). My daughter attends the school since kindergarten and we feel she is very safe there. It's an island and the police is always around, mostly helping the kids cross the street and greeting the parents. It's one of a few community schools in Miami-Dade. They lack extracurricular activities and some of the teachers could have more training, at least in the subject they are teaching. But this is not an isolated problem. It's a state problem. But all-in-all, it's a great school. I will miss it when my daughter goes to high school.

Unfortunaty the school lacks security and most of the parents are very concerned. Also lack of organization and communication with the parents. As far as education, it is good. But only for Florida standards.
I am absolutely happy with the education my child is and has received at Bay Harbour Elem. It is unfortunate that they can not get the Lice Outbreak problem under control, as many students are missing many days of class because of it, which in turn is hurting their grades. Many of the students have been sent home more than 3 times because of lice, with no follow up after. Not only does this hurt our childrens grades it is also not helping to develope their self esteem!
