I have had 4 children attend Clayton and it has been an excellent school for each of them. They have all excelled in different ways and the teachers have been very supportive. I have seen their interests grow greatly in the area of health and physical education, becoming much more aware of their health and their fitness. The school play has been wonderful and all of my children have participated in someway. I especially like having a uniform dress code. It helps keep the children at a level playing field. I would greatly recommend Clayton to anyone trying to decide on a school. It has been great helping my children prepare for high school.
This is the best middle school in the SL School District! Core subjects are strong! My child was well prepared for High School! The best thing about Clayton is it's music department and the PTA sponsored play each year! This parent produced and directed event is outstanding...better than most High School productions!
My child didn't learn anything in about half his classes. Math, English, Art and Social Studies were good. Science was excellent. Health was extremely poor. Life Technologies and other 7th grade classes were also poor. About half the time was spent in nonacademic classes. I get the feeling that middle school is just a holding tank between elementary and high school. We're switching schools.
