It's the offers so many opportunities for children to develop both academically and in learnin valuable life skills. It's a fantastic school!!!

Last year was our first year at Leggee and I was very impressed with the academic quality and level of organization. My boys were in K and 2nd grades last year and I thought that the level of Academic progress and learning was exemplary in comparison to their previous school. I also know that the fact that the city's population is growing so fast, it is hard for any school to adapt. Leggee has been doing the bast job possible. Only one negative thought I have is regarding the school district board which I feel are not realistic to the city's needs and not managing the budgets well; but this in no way is a reflection of the actual school. One final thing, I think a full day of K was Godsend and I thought the school did a great job in helping the students transition into the full day schedule.
i am not to happy with leggee. i think that they have too many children in the classrooms. i have a k student that came from byrd elementary and she loved her old school, and all she does is cry and say that she doesent like her new school. i also dont like the idea 0of the all day k classes. i do want to say that patti at the front desk is wonderful and so is the nurse, they do an outstanding job.

With Huntley's massive growth over the past few years, this school and its District has kept up as much as they can by keeping classroom sizes down (currently 1 teacher for every 20-25 kids), having buses for all children within the district, and having wonderful resources available for children and parents when needed.(i.e. homework help line...etc..) My family moved from the District 300 where many problems occured for the schools after the new homebuilders came in and all we can do is compare the two districts and say 'hats off' to Leggee Elementary and District 158 for keeping things level while all the new homes, new people, and new children have come in.
