My son is new to the school and district and the big move to middle school has been exciting, challenging, and fun for him. His teachers are excellent not only in their teaching but very accessible for both students and parents outside the classroom. I feel they have a real sense of the social scene as teachers and administrators are out and about on campus often. Go Panthers!

Newly upgraded facilities were an overdue improvement. I was pleasantly surprised by the responsiveness of the administration, headed by Principal Chris Mercer, and several of her senior teachers to special requests for my advanced student and ideas for big organizational changes. We didn't get everything we asked for, but I was satisfied that they gave us as much as they could and the results were great. Social climate is mixed; find your group, and you'll be okay ... awkward loners will have the stereotypical agonizing junior high experience. Staff is aware and working on it but can't be everywhere. (Review from experience 2004-2006, when it was SLV Junior High. They have since added 6th grade up from the elementary schools.)

I absolutely love this school! It has great, friendly, and supportive teachers, great food, and a newly remodeled campus. At my school there is a thing called Nature Academy. It is a great program for people of any academic level and we go on tons of field trip so we get a hands on learning experience ex: Catalina, Yosemite, Russian River, ect. The teachers teach the 50 7th and 8th graders the lifeskills to live by. The teachers make it like a second family. The majority of Alumni have gone to Ivy League Colleges.
