As the parent of a child that has excelled in academics and at more than one sport, I have to say that as parents we did not give money to any club, we have bought goods that are sold as fundraisers for any aspect of the school. (magazines, cookie dough, fruit, silent auction goods) and worked concessions, just like most parents of the students/athletes. Perhaps there have been politics, and perhaps some have paid a lot of money, but we haven't.
this school is excellant!! i can come here to learn without people talking in class! they are very respectful, and welcoming.
Ledford is a good school, but every good school has its problems. Yes, there are serious politics in the athletic department. However, the learning environment and education received (which should be the most important aspect of any school) are well above average. By far the best public school in Davidson County--hands down. No school is exempt from catty girls, violent boys, or asinine faculty--my personal opinion is that Ledford has not eliminated these problems, but minimized them to the best of their ability.
This school is a good place for education. However if your child plays sports. Especially football. Be prepared to pay $$$$$$$$ to the booster club so that he may play.
