There are few schools that can compare to Sutter in it's Academic Excellence and involvement and caring by both staff / faculty and parents. This is the Elementary school that everyone would dream that their child would go to! The principal is very involved and very approachable and parent involvement in the classroom and before and after school are encouraged. It is amazing to see that the staff / parent ratio during school hours seems to be nearly 1:1! It's that active. The PTA is great. The activities are super. The most important thing is that they strive to build on the individual and set the right foundation for future learning and take a whole student Approach. I would recommend this school to anyone. I wish I could have gone there for Elementary School! Some of the most outstanding teachers are: Kelly Burke, Sue Feldman, Pat Smith, and Mrs. Correia.
My son loves Sutter, and as his parent, I am equally happy. The teachers are phenomenal. I thought his Kindergarten teacher was amazing; I could not believe my son went from barely writing his name to writing a 5 page report by the end of the year. And his 1st grade teacher was even better. She had extremely high standards for this class of 21 students, and her combination a teaching style and caring led each of the kids to success in reading, writing, math and every other subject. The PTA is very involved and provides fun, educational activities after school and raises money for field trips for the entire school. I could not imagine a better environment for my children to learn to love school and lay a foundation for success as they continue on with their education.
