In response to the disgruntled teenager review... In the '08-'09 school year my observations are this: Announced at the holiday music concert - 500+ students (out of 900) are participating in the music programs. All three music offerings, choir, band, orchestra are very large groups. It is a tight squeeze to fit 6th grade groups on the stage. I haven't observed the other grade levels but to reach the announced participation numbers they too must be good-sized groups. I am aware of a former teacher that was dismissed from teaching duties for his behavior in the classroom. Current teachers seem to have a good overall relationship with their students. Students seem pleased to participate and from the quality of the holiday concert that I watched the teachers have high expectations that the students strive to meet. Jazz band is also offered. Educational offerings at ability levels are very good.

I disagree. I think this is a fine school, the teachers are very helpful when working with parents--they make it a point to explain things fully and it seems that they are geniunely interested in the welfare of out sons and daughters. Also, my son has found the academics to be challenging since me and his teacher sat down and dicussed his personal needs (he's a fast learner). The plays are always delightful and we look forward to each spring! Ellis is a great school.

This is the worst school in Minnesota. Availability of music is almost none. The teachers curse and scream. And the food prices are unreasonably high. The building is unsanitary.
