I go to westminster, and i personaly think the learning enviorment is lacking. But the student relations is great. I seve on the Student Senate board and I think we could help the school turn around. But our school is so appethetic. Our new prinicipal is ok but we havent seen his true colors

I am a student at Westminster, and I think the academics and student performance is unsatisfactory. Some of the teachers barely prepare their students for exams. Students are failing. My middle school was ten times better than this school. I feel like there are too many kids in each class and the teachers cannot keep up with their students' needs. The school is crowded and disorganized, and the school seems to be falling apart. It needs some serious renovating!

I am a parent of a student at Westminster High School. I had originally wanted my child to attend a private high school, but I am glad I didn't. The academics are challenging with a variety of Honors and AP classes to place in the most selective colleges for students who apply themselves. The are a variety of sports and other extra curricular activites for everyone. Most of teachers work with both the kids and the parents when issues arise along with support staff/programs for both academic and personal issues. In additition, I can't say I know a principal that is more respected and liked by both the parents and the kids. So far WHS have been a win/win situation for us!

Although I feel most of the staff is great, I have to disagree with the 'zero tolerance' for drugs comment by another parent. Academics are mediocre;class sizes are too big. There are many AP courses, but not many students excelling in them. On a positive note, the principal is great at making sure parents are aware of upcoming events;he uses an automated phone call system that gives information. The after school learning center for free homework help/tutoring is awesome! Teachers have been very available when I've had concerns and met with me right away to address issues. Overall feeling:not a great school, but not the worst either.
