They've got a decent academic program for the area, and a really great Arts program headed by Mary Graham.

Pine Tree ISD is by far a spectacular school, that is, if you are looking at the staff, sports programs, and grades. But say you were to send your child there, after reviewing all the schools around town, and deciding Pine Tree would provide the best education of the four main school districts in Longview, Texas? Yes, they would be well-educated, but they would also have a knowledge of things most children shouldn't by at least the seventh grade, if not sooner. While in the Student Handbook it clearly states No PDA (Public Displays of Affection), such as holding hands, or hugging in the hallway. The students at Pine Tree have come to expect nothing short of 'third base' all throughout the hallways. They cuss like sailors. But it gives your child an experience to know all the ethnicities and prepare for college, with a variety of religious and familial backgrounds.
