With a no bully program strongly enforced, an Eagle closet to give clothes to those in need, and strong treacher commitment it is one of the best middle schools.
North staff spend a lot of extra time with your children preparing them for the next grade. There is small teacher-pupil ratio and many extra hours spent on helping students with thier homework. North works hard on helping students stand up against bullying. I was always heard by the administration and was a part of my child's educational team. Best staff in Rapid City.
My son went to this school and was always bullied. Staff at north ignored this until one time he hit back than he became a problem student. I told them he was tired of being picked on and he stuck up for his self. Bullies at this school are always protected for some reason. This is a very difficult school for any child to attend. Violence, drugs, alcohol, bullies, and staff that could careless. You do have a few good teachers. However the majority should not even be allowed around children.
My son attended North for three years. The staff took a personal interest in my son, taking time from their personal lives to help him deal with the hardships he faced as a special needs child. The teachers and especially the Principal take great pride in being a resource for the entire family. At no cost to parents, they offered computer classes so parents could better themselves; they hosted fun, educational family activities to encourage parents to be involved; they went out of their way to recognize even the smallest achievements of their students, and were able to do so because they know their students personally. I was very impressed by the experience my son and I shared with North Middle School. I feel it is the best school in all of Rapid City, bar none.
