I graduated from an Atlanta PS & had heard so much positivity about the Cobb county educational experience. My student is in the top of her class & her grasp of simple topics & subject matter is far below what mine was & my other young relatives in Fulton PS. & Atlanta PS. I am appalled at her level of knowledge in history, mathematics, & literature. Projects; a joke, materials; joke, classroom behavior; joke, teachers understanding of subject is grossly limited. Teachers are childlike themselves & do not challenge students. My daughter's work is so easy to do, she breezes through it & still has no idea what she has done. I have no idea how her grades are as good as they are because when I delve beyond what the teacher just 'passes out' she has no clue. Many supporting stories. Too many to tell.

Grant it, South Cobb, as well as many other schools in Cobb County can stand to do better in a few areas. In response to the student who transferred from N Cobb, AP classes are available to those who qualify! South Cobb has a fantastic Magnet Program as well. Dr. Riveria did a great job turning this school around, he will be missed by the students, staff & parents, but let's not loose focus on the big picture! Let's all work to make SCHS better than before. Parents - get involved. Students - stop complaining and start learning!! This is what it is going to take to improve SCHS.

South Cobb is the worst school!! I do not like it for nothing. The students are ghetto and the lunch is not that good. Half the teachers can't teach it's sad. I came from north cobb and north cobb is much better! They don't even have that much AP classes to take.
