My son attends Heritage Elementary school and has Mrs. Berschauer as his teacher. After nine years in the Army, I recently got out. Because of the military, my two boys have attended no less than 12 schools in the last five years. I am also finishing up a divorce an my son lives with his mom. I bring all this up, because I have never had the pleasure of meeting a teacher like Mrs. Berschauer. I contacted her a few weeks into the school year, because my divorce led to a lack of communication about school between my ex-wife and I. Since that time, I have been impressed more and more with each passing week. From my first contact, Mrs. B began sending me weekly updates on everything from how my son was doing to every activity that takes place in the classroom. I wish there was more room to write.

My niece attends this school and so do all her friends. They could not imagine a better school atmosphere. It is very diverse. There are children from all over the world. The student teacher ratio is the lowest in Tampa and children receive lots of extra attention. P.S. if you are racist you should look elsewhere this schools is packed with Indians, Africans, Arabs, Chinese, and Hispanics, along with a equal number of Caucasians and African Americans. It is very diverse in a very well to do neighborhood and is only at 50% capacity.

This school has a great open door policy with the VP, however there seems to be a breakdown when it comes to the teachers. The campus is beautiful, the teachers are friendly but there is some sort of breakdown when it comes to the academic portion.

My daughter loves her school. We moved here at the beginning of the year and my daughter started Kindergarten at Heritage. We have loved it from the beginning. She has had caring teachers who want to see her excel. No overcrowding whatsoever like some nearby schools. They do not push the kids like other schools esp just to achieve higher test scores. I am a frequent volunteer and I see her teacher encouraging kids from all levels of learning. It is a very positive school and if given the choice, would choose NOT to leave this school.
