BSCS is an A+ school! Great teachers, involved parents and a large and enthusiastic PTO continue to raise the bar at the school. I have 3 children that attend BSCS and this will be our 6th year there. It keeps getting better every year. There is definitely a sense of community in the school. Although volunteering is a requirement, I look at it as a privilidge.

I have 4 children that attend this school. They love it and their teachers. They are excelling. I have understood that there has been some turn over in the middle school and I think it is an opportunity for our adminstration to take advantage. There is a much larger selection of qualified teachers with layoffs at the public schools...to our advantage and note we had no layoffs or reductions in programs during the year. We are AN A+ School for a reason...We love our school

Let me start by saying that the 2008-2009 middle school teachers were great! I am concerned and saddened that the majority of staff has either been let go or left to find a 'better place' to work. When I called to find out why certain staff members were still listed on the web page when they no longer worked there ( all of the ESE staff, the 6th grade language arts teachers, all but one of the 8th grade teachers) I got no answer that made sense. 'We are in the process of fixing that.' Many of these teachers have been gone since June or before. Talk about a lack of communication. I spoke with a few returning teachers and even they were upset because so many great teachers were let go for reasons not related to teaching abilities. The staff turnover at BSCS is ridiculous!

This school is a fine school if your child 'fits in the box' of the norm. If your child needs any extra help or attention, don't expect to get it. Apparently they don't have the resources to provide it, or it is just too much out of their way to get they help the student might need. I have made the mistake of believing that BSCS would do what they said they would do for my child only to be disapointed by them one too many times. -They have occasional extra curricular activities if you pay for it. Parents are no longer welcome to volunteer in the classrooms, and its very difficult to communicate with the teacher - you are at their mercy if they decide to return your email or phone call. There is way too much homework. The facilities are very nice, clean and secure.
