I also sent my 2 sons to Aldrich. When my youngest entered Kindergarten, the teach was alarmed at his lack of preparation. I chose Aldrich due to it's historical reputation. My son was able to catch up quickly with the help of a para, but I will never forget the haunting words of one of his teachers 'don't worry about him learning to write his letters. The Kindergarten teacher will teach him/her the way he/she wants it done when the time comes.' I felt this school offered a day care enviroment and the teachers were very inconsistent in their teaching styles and enthusiasum. I now have my 3 year old daughter in a different Pre-School and my husband said after only 2 weeks 'this school has accomplished more in 2 weeks that Aldrich did in 1 year.'

This is a great school for social emotional development. But if you are looking for a Pre-School that preps your child for Kindergarten academics you better look else were. I sent both of my sons here and if your child is not self directed then they will not learn a thing. One of the teachers even said to me this year that their job was to watch the children. If I had it to do over with my 2 child I would have sent him to a diffrent Pre-K. Now he will be going to K not prepared to be there.
