Disappointed so far, yes the school offers ballroom dancing, drama and other extra curricular activities. These should in no way replace the major subject. I m new this year, but so far the school is behind on every subject. Does not offer any advance classes like other catholic middle school are offering to their students. They offer nothing to challenge the kids, no Integrated Algebra, no 8 grade regent program to look forward too. They spend more time on the extra activities. Math for example should be seen everyday and it is not, science despite their great lab is behind. So far I m very disappointed.

This school maintains such a family atmosphere with friendly staff from the principal down to the secretaries. When all other school's enrollment dropped, ours has increased! We offer the latest technology in the form of a new fully stocked science lab, interactive smartboards, new media center complete with a computer lab, as well as computers in every classroom. Though they may not have core subjects every day, they have double classes of core subjects on the days they do have them. Not only have they met NY State guidlines, but have excelled and exceeded standardized testing in those areas. In addition, dance, violin, guitar and keyboard are part of the curriculum. Early Childhood kids are taught Italian and older kids are taught Spanish. There are wonderful enrichment clubs after school, also competitive and non-competitive sports programs. Before/After care avail., homework, books and grades on-line. Catholic School, not what you think!

This school has seen a decline in the level of instruction which is very weak; the students are not given a strong academic environment especially through the material being offered to them on a daily basis. Core subject are offered only 3 times a week as such the NY State curriculum is not even routinely followed in most of the subjects! Suffice to say this school is not focus on preparing the students secondary education.

Our Lady of Lourdes School is a school of academic excellence. The teachers are truly wonderful and genuinely care about all of their students. It is a very warm environment, with activities and programs which make it stand out among other elementary and middle schools, public as well as private. In addition to its excellent academic instruction, OLL offers Fine Arts Instruction, Drama, Ballroom Dancing, Academic Enrichment Programs, an array of Sports Programs, Musical Instrument Instruction, and so much more. It is also a Middle States Accredited School, and the teachers are certified. Come and see what makes our school so special!
