Fork Shoals is a wonderful school. It was originally founded in 1877. The school has a very nurturing environment and my son truly enjoys going to school there. My son had been in first grade in Nicholasville, Kentucky. I had never been personally exposed to a school which seemed more like a confinement area than an educational environment. We were so happy when we moved to Simpsonville, SC and our son began attending Fork Shoals. One never realizes how much difference caring teachers can make until having to go to a school that is lousy.
This is one of the most loving and secure schools I have ever seen.All the staff Knew my child by name before the first week was up. They really made it easier to send my child to kindergarden.My sons teacher keeps me informed on how my child is doing at all times and seems very concerned about his wellbeing.
My son is in the 4th Grade at Fork Shoals. Previously he attended 2 other Greenville County Elementary schools. Fork Shoals has done more for him in the last 6 weeks than all his other years combined. I am so grateful my son has had the opportunity to attend this incredible school. The principal is an incredible person who obviously has a true love for children and truly wants each of them to have the best education possible.
My son just completed Kindergarten at Fork Shoals. He is getting a wonderful education. The entire staff at the school takes an active part in the education of the children. They encourage the children to learn, explore and to question everything. The principal & teachers create such a strong bond between the home & school life that children feel how important their education is, and give them a love for learning. I am very excited to see what the next year brings, and see how implementing the IB program will enhance an already world class education environment.
