Colfax Elementary School

I am not at all pleased with the Colfax Elementary school system. My daughter has not learned anything from school everything that has been taught is taught from home. My husband and I are currently looking into private school or moving cause the system is so terrible. Not only is the classrooms over crowded but the discipline is terrible, there are no consequences for these children. Also I have sat in a couple of the classrooms to see how things are done and to say the least I was troubled. One teacher comes in the room hands out a pack of papers and tells the children if you have any questions come see me, if not be quite. The last time I checked this was not teaching. These teachers are just baby sitting is all they are doing. I would not advise anyone to subject there children to this school.

I am a very concerned parent about my children's education.I have seen alot of things that really discusted me at Colfax Elementary.The school is badly run down. I would not recomend any child being deprived by going there.

I am very concerned parent. Everyone in the education dept has quit at our school this year. Not only at our school but the whole parish is lacking. This school is old and rundown and needs to be closed or a new school built. Anyone can walk into halls at the upper or lower end. There is no feeling of safety there what so ever. Supervision lacks discipline.

Safety and discipline is a major issue. One day my husband walked through the school unannounced. Only a couple of teachers recognized him and probably 'assumed' why he was there. however, not one teacher, school employee or aid asked him anything. In my opinion this is a major issue.
