Principal Jacquez knows every student by name. The teachers are exceptional. Mrs. Wallace is the best teacher I've ever known. The office staff is friendly and always knows the answer to whatever question I ask. We love our Sun Chiefs!
White Sands is probably one of the best schools in NM. The classes are small (between 14-22 students per class with plenty of educational assistants to help out). The teachers are all top rated and the facilities are in excellent condition. The school is located on a military installation in a small gated and guarded community which makes it much safer than any school in the city. The community is close-knit, caring and very supportive of the school. I wouldn't want my child to attend school anywhere but here.
Poor leadership in this school. Half the time they don't know if they're coming or going. Some teachers have excellent teaching skills, but are prohibited by those who hold higher positions. The school has a tendency to change the way they do things half way through the year.
