I.C.S. is a student centered, warm, and affirming school. Our families are as richly diverse as the City of Ithaca and many parents play an active role in making this learning community such a wonderful place to learn, to teach, and to grow. Immaculate is celebrating its 150th year of educating children in mind, body, and spirit. The faculty, staff, and families are committed to continuing this tradition of excellence in a setting that feels like a large extended family. Our small class sizes create an opportunity to have valuable one-to-one time with faculty and teachers to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners. I wake up each day with a smile on my face knowing that I am going to work in this wonderful place.

ICS is a small school with a nurturing staff who provide a family atmosphere. Children learn to treat others with the respect that Jesus taught us, along with receiving an excellent academic education.

Immaculate Conception school is simply,to my knowledge, (based on comparison to public schools my kids have attended, others' I've visited during open houses, numerous conversations with parents locally about how their kids have done in this school and at others, and many others with teachers and school board members.) the best elementary/middle school in Ithaca, NY, and surrounding vicinity. The key strengths: fantastic, nurturing, diligent, smart teachers, wonderful principal, ICS parents whose hard work for school and commitment to their kids is humbling and inspiring at same time. NYS test scores are always among, if not THE highest in local region, every year that I've looked at them. (2005 scores for ex. showed 100% of 4th and 8th grade students at levels 3 or 4, which are the benchmark targets set as goals by NYS. The middle school is a gem--friendly, studious, and FUN classmates for my 7th grader!CLASSS SIZE: 9!
