Fleming County High School is absolute top notch. Any good school that you send your children to will do your child justice if you are a supportive parent. You must encourage your child to do well in school and never take up for them when they are wrong. It will not pay off. Teach your children from Day #1 to respect their teachers and administrators and put their academics first and they will succeed. Expect the best and you will get the best. Teachers are trained professionals and should be utilized as such. Teachers are not babysitters nor do they need to put up with a bunch of garbage and disruptions. My students have always done well in the Fleming County School system because I expected them to. Furthermore, I was their first and most important teacher and I hold myself accountable for their education - not the school system.

This school is alright. Not Great. The teachers make sure that they do have many clubs. This year many of the clubs are doing outstanding. FFA, Academic Team, Skills USA...There are a ton of clubs. On the otherhand, as a former student (2 years ago) and an older sister to a current student, the administration is lacking. The teachers are pretty good though.

I feel the quality of education could use much improvement. I feel the administration and staff are covering their heads in the sand. Just read the Flemingsburg Gazette if you really want to know what is going on in your school system. It is ridiculous. We entrust our children to each other. No adults are accountable. However, we all realize that teenagers will push the limits in every area. We need true leaders to control the ring leaders. We need help!

I graduated from the school not long ago and I don't know what these people in the reviews are talking about. I was involved in many activities that weren't football or cheerleading and the school gave us lots of support. The teachers were very involved and wanted us to do well. As for the amount of students dropping out of school you need to look at the community. While I did graduation and go on to law school many students leave school to help their families on the farm or to provide for their own families. There is a different way of life in Fleming county that many outsiders just don't understand. And the way of life doesn't mean the students who go to our school can't be successful. Most graduates from my class went to college and received scholarships. One must remember success is in the eye of the beholder.
