I have two children currently attending this school. The teachers are dedicated and do an excellent job at teaching language arts. Almost all kids here make great progress with reading from K-2 grade. Their math program is less challenging, for example, for the first three months of 2nd grade, they were still practicing addition up to 20. This was not challenging for at least 50% of the kids in the classroom.

Very challenging in terms of student workload with a very high degree of parental involvement verging on, dare I say it, over-involvement. You can expect to see moms come by to bring their kids lunch and clean their desks for them at noon. Teacher quality is generally high with a large percentage of children working above grade level. This is not a school for the slacker student. Culturally this school is predominantly Asian in an affluent area with lots of support for Asian kids in terms of language, translation for non-English-speaking Asian parents and cultural activities. A very good but very intense school, ideal for gifted and talented kids.

Although the curriculum at Jensen is challenging, the support from teachers, staff, the principal and the very involved parents help the children achieve their personal and classroom goals.
